Last September 2, 2015, the Computer Society conducted its first seminar entitled “Basic Photoshop: Creating an effective poster”. The goal of the seminar is to maximize the creativity of each members and nonmembers as well.
Registration started around 2:30pm in the afternoon gathering a number of 47 students all in all. To continue the program, Bianca Angelica Tan, Master of Ceremonies of the event had a short encouraging message followed bythe introduction of the seminar speaker.
The seminar speaker is Ms. Sunshine Yu, a graduate of Computer Science major in Software Technology at De LaSalle University. She also taught as a Computer teacher at Light Christian Academy last year.
Ms. Sunshine Yu explained the elements of creating an effective poster from the rights fonts and colors to be used to the type of design a poster must possessed. After explaining briefly the basic knowledge of creating a poster, the speaker asked the students to group themselves and make one effective poster about the topics presented in the presentation. It became a little competition for them where the output is needed to be submitted on/before September 08, 2015. The winner of the competition will have a gift from the speaker herself.
Before adjourning the event, the awarding of certificate and token of appreciation for the speaker took place. Right after that, ComSoc raffled a 100 peso worth of gift certificate from Starbucks to the students who pre-registered for the event. The winner of the gift certificate as announced was John Paul Cusi, BSIT 2.
The MC then concluded the event with a happy goodbye to the students!
